Authorized Bergen Guide

I moved from France to Bergen in January 2010, and have been working as an authorized city guide since 2016.

Here is an overview of the main tours that I offer:

  • Discover the best of Bergen, strolling through the historical passageways of the UNESCO-listed Hanseatic district of Bryggen. Immerge yourself in the daily life of Bergen's inhabitants, walking in a residential area with traditional wooden houses.

Duration: 2 hours

Price: 1600 kr (per tour, for up to 8 people)

  • In addition to discovering Bryggen, you want to spend more time in the unique atmosphere of the old streets of Bergen, as well as explore the newer part of the city centre.

Duration: 3 hours

Price: 2200 kr (per tour, for up to 8 people)

Whether you are passionate about history, architecture or street art, all city walks are adjusted to your preferences.

If you want to wander around the city for a longer period through several neighborhoods and/or museums, contact me!

Bergen, gateway to the fjords

When you visit Norway - and in particular Bergen - discovering the fjords is a must. The best way to do so is by boat.

You will find some possible options below:

  • Sail through the Osterfjord towards Modalen, Norway's second smallest municipality. The boat slows down to pass Mostraumen Strait and brings us as close as possible to waterfalls and the steep sides of the fjord. This is the perfect cruise to discover a fjord in just a few hours.

Duration: 3h30 - 4h

Price: 5000 kr (for 2 people, tickets and guiding included)

  • If you want to spend an entire day surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, "Norway in a Nutshell" is for you. Discover the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord onboard a quiet, electric catamaran. Take the Flåmsbana - the historic railway connecting Flåm village to Myrdal train station - before heading back to Bergen riding what is frequently named one of the world's best railway journeys.

Duration: 11 to 13 hours, depending on the season

Price: 12000 kr (for 2 people, tickets and guiding included)

There are other cruises available, especially if you prefer exploring the Hardangerfjord. Contact me to find out more!

Bergen, the city of 7 mountains

The city of Bergen is surrounded by many mountains. Taking the funicular up to mount Fløyen can easily be added to any city tour.

Discovering Bergen through its mountains is a unique experience, and here is a brief description of two of my favourite hikes:

  • Take the funicular to mount Fløyen and get off the beaten track to reach Fjellhytten cabin and enjoy amazing views of Bergen and its surroundings. Continue to Brushytten before walking downhill towards the city centre and finishing through typical residential streets. This tour is approximately 8 kilometres long, mainly on forest paths. Accessible to anyone in good physical condition.

Duration: 3h30 - 4h

Price: 3300 kr (for 2 people, tickets and guiding included)

  • Leave the city centre by bus to start the hike in Sandviken neighbourhood. Walk by historical places such as Ankerhytten before following several lakes and reaching Brushytten. Continue to Fjellhytten for one of the best views over Bergen and the other mountains. Then walk down to Fløyen and finally take the funicular. This tour is approximately 9.5 kilometres long, it is more demanding than the previous one. The paths are not always marked. Accessible to anyone in good physical condition.

Duration: 4h - 4h30

Price: 3800 kr (for 2 people, tickets and guiding included)

I can accompany you on hikes to other mountains surrounding the city. The price will then depend on the duration of the tour.
